OUR MISSION

SEEDS Learner provides social and emotional education to children with learning and developmental differences, adults with similar challenges, and the greater society.

SEEDS Learner (EIN: 99-2993634) is a 501(c)(3) public charity.

Make a difference!

Our Services

SEEDS Learner will establish a Supplemental Education Center, which will be a brick-and-mortar facility in Marin County that offers group and individual activities designed to generate social and emotional growth for children with intellectual and developmental differences and for others in the community.

Programming will include arts & crafts, music, yoga, sports, meditation, dance, photography, theater, and writers workshops. We will have dedicated spaces that are equipped for physical education and high-quality occupational therapy services. Additionally, there will be a library and educational technology that can be used for tutoring and for families that have supplemental educational needs not met in a traditional school setting.

Who Can Benefit?

Children with Learning and Developmental Differences:

Many children with special needs are not able to thrive in a typical school setting but also do not require a specialized school for children with more severe needs. Caught in the middle, these children can supplement their learning with services provided by SEEDS. Families that are homeschooling their children can also use our facilities. With these Tier 2 children vastly underserved by schools and businesses, there will always be a need for these services. â€‹

Adults with Similar Challenges:

While the primary focus is on children with learning and developmental differences, many underserved adults face similar challenges and will equally benefit from our services. Our programming will remove these adults from isolation and introduce them to constructive activities that allow them to meaningfully engage with others.

Siblings of Neurodiverse Children:

Many siblings of neurodiverse children often have daunting caregiving responsibilities forced upon them at early ages. Their needs often take a back seat as families prioritize the sibling with greater needs. We will offer programming and support that will empower siblings with tools to help them cope with their current and past experiences and to advocate for themselves as much as they have for family members.

Children with No Diagnoses:

Children without special needs also stand to benefit from constructively engaging in enriching activities rooted in social and emotional learning. As the world grows increasingly diverse, having a center that allows for a controlled and thoughtful way to integrate diverse populations is vital. All children will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of exciting fields, socialize with others, and gain a deeper understanding of their emotions – as they learn how to manage those emotions in a way that leads to healthy relationships and increased independence. What’s more, our inclusive environment ensures that children at all ability levels will have enhanced empathy and compassion for others.

Parents of Neurodiverse Children and Adults with No Diagnoses

Everyone benefits from increased social and emotional support, and this includes adults who do not have a diagnosis of any special needs. Many parents of children on the spectrum, for example, will benefit from our support groups, family assistance programs, and parenting classes. We will also have adult classes that focus on general wellness that can include meditation, fitness, and other fun activities that are applicable to all demographics.
